Bills And Snail Mail
Posted on | September 21, 2009 | 2 Comments
I realized something today that was almost depressing, if it weren’t for bills, I would get no mail at all. Even in Asia, companies realize that anyone with a credit card account will have a computer and Internet (or at least convenient access to both), my mailbox is soon to become a dust collector. I’ve not received a post card from any of my friends in years, but I’ve gotten lots of e-mails with travel photos and facebook notices.
It made me think back to days in grade school, we used to trade letters with pen pals from all over the world. I would look forward to receiving cards on various holidays in the mail and we always had a stock of “thank you” stationary at the ready.
These days, at least in my immediate familial and social circles, paper mail is a thing of the past. I know its good, its progress .. maybe I’m just too quick to find nostalgia in the vacancies our technology creates hourly. I’m glad that our daughter will be using a computer pretty much exclusively by the time she’s 10 .. but I was really looking forward to paper report cards

I wish I only got bills in the mail. I get a metric butt load of snail mail SPAM.

If you get your daughter’s report card on paper, the messenger (likely your daughter) can attempt a man-in-the-middle attack and alter the paper enroute to you.
