I’m not sure why he did it, but someone has created a Twitter client for my favorite personal computer of all time, the Commodore 64. In the video below, you will see a C-128D running in C64 emulation mode.

When I see people do things like this, I feel happy inside. No, Twitter is not going to gain amazing market share from all of those people still using a Commodore, its just neat to see someone do something just because they can.

Plus, well, I have a soft spot for the C64.

Oh the days of sharing your hacked copies of stupid programs with your friends on paper, which you originally found in a magazine.

If they spent an hour typing it in and it did not work .. man there was hell to pay. I got my first 1541 drive almost 3 years after getting my C-64 which is when I discovered The Bard’s Tale (thanks to a program known as renegade, I managed to steal my neighbor’s character disk, 16k at a time). Not saying computers are not fun now, but I’m quite nostalgic to the era when killer pokes actually worked.

    Talk about code review :)

To Brian Ames, sorry .. but I paid you $20 out of guilt, I had your characters a month prior than you sold them to me.

You were easily distracted by my latest copy of Edmund Scientific and I swiped your disk then pretended I heard my mom calling. An hour later, I replaced it after I returned and convinced you to put a dozen eggs in your microwave (while you were supposed to be studying and your parents were on their way home). I hoped that your mom’s over-use of Niagra spray starch would hide the stench, sorry that I was incorrect.

Your enterprising next door neighbor, –Tim
