In case you did not notice, this site is now served by ezp.net. I moved Echoreply because my other network is undergoing drastic changes (all for the better), the problem is e-mail reliability. Even if I used Google for my domain e-mail (which I do not), having both DNS servers in one place was a recipe for disaster.
Now how, oh how does a Xen hacker look for a host offering Xen? In most cases, we don’t .. we just use our own stuff. In this case, I was in a bind .. and EZP came to the rescue in a manner and method that sets them apart. I’m not going to write a review on popular sites like Web Hosting Talk , quite frankly, all Inet does these days is mishandle sensitive information and facilitate a forum where people can try the ‘mob mentality’ when dealing with their web host. Neither prospect finds me agreeable any longer (especially the latter), on to the review.
The staff at EZP is just fantastic. Keep in mind, I know Xen inside and out, I’ve built my own stubdoms, I’ve written several tools to work with Xen and I’ve fought through modifying qemu-dm just like the rest of us. Taking a leap where I did not have access to domain-0 was a big leap for me. EZP handed me a very usable Xen domain with some perks:
- My frequently accessed storage is on a very tuned SSD
- My IP addresses are non-contiguous
- My domain came with storage entirely managed by LVM2 (on my end)
- James, the system administrator actually knows what he is doing (I’ll certify that).
- I felt like someone rolled out the red carpet and wanted my business.
- Backups ‘just happen’
The network is solid. You won’t get bottlenecked by a cheap switch and they watch their density. As far as Xen hosts go, they really have their act together.
As for price, with EZP, you get what you pay for. As far as hosts go, they aren’t the cheapest one on the block .. however, the value is perfect.
Its not often that I advocate a network other than the one that I’ve built .. however in this case, I’m making an exception. EZP is really a class act.
In this day and age, the news likes to call us
consumers' , EZP makes you feel like acustomer’ again
